Job Description

The Community Practice (CPrac) service at the Veterinary Teaching Hospital (VTH) provides high quality primary care to clients within a 35-mile radius of the vet school as well as opportunities for clinical year veterinary students to participate in a primary care veterinary clinic setting. The Patient Service Coordinator is the service’s first point of contact and provides extraordinary customer service to our clients. Coordinator responsibilities include, but are not limited to: answering phones, monitoring emails, scheduling appointments, facilitating communication between the clients and the care team, and triaging client concerns. The successful candidate will be an integral contributor to CPrac’s mission to provide excellent primary care while teaching student doctors, enjoy building relationships with our long-term clients, be an excellent communicator, possess strong problem solving and prioritization skills, and thrive in a fast-paced environment with a diverse team of professionals.

Required Qualifications

Previous experience in a professional office environment; excellent communication and interpersonal skills both on the telephone and in person; organization skills; demonstrated ability to meet deadlines; strong computer skills, including experience with MS Office Suite, scanning, uploading, and managing documents; problem solving skills; working knowledge of medical terminology.

Preferred Qualifications

Previous experience in a medical or veterinary clinic; previous experience using an electronic medical record system.
