HERE'S WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT THIS ROLE
You will be…

• Joining the Planning & Operations team in Student Affairs; a department of data-driven professionals who enjoy enhancing the student experience by supporting various student focused departments.
• Reporting to the Associate Director, Contract and Administration in a regular twelve-month, staff appointment. 
• Administering contracts (reviewing, interpreting, and renewing) for Virginia Tech Dining Services and acting as a liaison between Dining Services, Virginia Tech Procurement, and the Finance and Planning offices; and coordinating all associated paperwork.
• Writing specifications for food, equipment, and services.
• Testing various dining products and maintaining a library of catalogs from equipment manufacturers and food manufacturers.
• Developing systems for tracking vendor performance (i.e., Prime Vendor) and implementing and sustaining each system.
• Communicating and working collaboratively with various stakeholders, colleagues and management.
• Offered a base compensation package between $70,000-$80,000, along with a comprehensive benefits package that includes health insurance, paid leave, retirement, tuition assistance, VT discounts, and so much more!

Required Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s degree in business administration, supply chain management, or any other relevant field of study, or, the equivalent years of professional training and experience.
• Project management
• Analyzing data or information processing
• Generating and disseminating reports
• Operating Word processing and spreadsheet software (Windows, Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and Outlook)
• Demonstrated experience in contract administration and writing specifications
• Knowledge of procurement law

 

Preferred Qualifications

• A Master’s in business administration, supply chain management, economics, or any other relevant field of study, or, the equivalent years of professional training and experience.
• Demonstrated experience in:
- Food service including food products, equipment, and related services
- Basic economic and/or accounting principles and practices, the financial markets, general banking practices
- Systems Evaluation (Identifying measures or indicators of system performance and the actions needed to improve or
correct performance, relative to the goals of the system.)
- Inventory management/materials coordination
- Negotiation
- Requests For Proposals (RFP) and Invitation For Bids (IFB)
• Demonstrated professional skills in exercising:
- Strong communication (oral and written)
- Integrity and dependability
- Attention to detail
- Initiative
• Demonstrated professional ability to:
- Comprehend written material and accurately interpret sophisticated data
- Solve complex problems, utilize deductive reasoning, and practice analytical thinking
