Job Description

Enter and synchronize vendor related information in both the Banner Finance and HokieMart e-procurement systems. Research and apply vendor organizational and business information, available through the Internet and other sources, to create a vendor profile. Provide professional customer service to campus end users as well as vendors when clarification is necessary regarding business profile or purchase order delivery requirements. Process new supplier data requests received through HokieMart. Responsible for the accurate coding of vendor records, documentation of research/analysis and storage of vendor records. Perform Visual Compliance checks to ensure debarred vendors are properly coded in Banner. Perform eVA checks and monitor the daily eVA reports and update vendor information accordingly .Function in a fast-paced environment. Support the University and Procurement Department’s Supplier Opportunity Initiative by providing assistance and support in vendor outreach programs, providing vendors general guidance and information about business opportunities, and by understanding and communicating to vendors overall goals and objectives of Virginia Tech’ supplier opportunity program (SWaM).

Required Qualifications

- Demonstrated experience applying organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills to tasks.
- Experience in resolving data conflicts.
- Experience following protocols, guidelines and procedures in a higher education or business financial setting.
- Experience establishing work priorities under pressure.
- Experience performing data entry and multitasking in a fast paced environment.
- Ability to work in a team environment with a minimal level of supervision.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business or equivalent work experience is required.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience with Banner Finance system.
- Working knowledge of HokieMart e-procurement system.
- Experience with end-user customer service.
- Experience researching and interpreting corporate, university or governmental financial and organizational information.
- Demonstrated experience working in a project-based environment requiring independent actions within strict guidelines.
