Are you a passionate storyteller and skilled writer who thrives in crafting engaging, impactful content? Virginia Tech Dining Services is seeking a Content Manager to lead the creation and management of written communications for web, social media, press releases, newsletters, and publications. This role is central to promoting Dining Services’ initiatives and enhancing the student experience through compelling narratives and strategic communication.
As part of Virginia Tech’s Division of Student Affairs, Dining Services is committed to creating a world-class dining experience. The Content Manager will play a pivotal role in enhancing student engagement and ensuring our communications reflect the excellence and innovation of our programs.
• Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, journalism, English, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
• Proven experience in writing, editing, and content creation for digital and print platforms.
• Strong command of grammar, spelling, and style with demonstrated expertise in AP style guidelines.
• Knowledge of social media platforms and best practices for writing effective posts and captions.
• Familiarity with website content management systems (e.g., Adobe CMS) and newsletter tools.
• Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills and ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
• Experience managing communications in higher education or a similar setting.
• Proficiency with social media management tools and project management systems.
• Experience writing for fundraising or advancement campaigns.
• Experience creating, using, and following a brand style guide.
Salary $42,000 - $46,000/year and commensurate with experience
Applicants must provide examples of written work with examples of graphics demonstrating creativity and adherence to standard principles of design as a link in resume, separate Word attachment, or PDF file. As part of the interview process, selected candidates will also be required to provide a presentation on planning and executing a successful digital marketing campaign.
The successful candidate will be required to have a criminal conviction check.
