Job Description

This 3-year Restricted AP Faculty position provides operations support for the Online Master of Natural Resources (OMNR) program in the Center for Leadership in Global Sustainability (CLiGS) within Virginia Tech’s College of Natural Resources and Environment (CNRE). The program coordinator provides leadership and oversight for functions that support the successful engagement of students throughout their lifecycle, starting as prospective students through alumni. This program coordinator works closely with the program director, senior manager of marketing and recruitment, and other faculty and staff at CLiGS, CNRE, and the university to provide support for students, program development, and program delivery. Key responsibilities include: OMNR student advising, enrollment management, and related services; faculty support; program-specific marketing and communications support; and special projects and partnerships.

Funding permitting, at the end of the 3-year appointment this position will transition to annual renewal.

This position will have a hybrid work location schedule with 2-3 days/week onsite and the rest remote.

Required Qualifications

● Bachelor’s degree in the natural sciences, sustainability, communications, or related disciplines.
● Extensive project management experience.
● Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
● Extensive customer service experience.
● Ability to work independently and as a team member.
● Ability to plan and prioritize work requirements and demonstrate independent decision-making capabilities.
● Ability to work flexible hours including evening and weekend hours consistent with student needs.
● Demonstrated experience with computer applications and tools, including, but not limited to, Microsoft office products and website content management systems.
● Demonstrated experience managing multiple activities in a deadline-oriented environment, while being highly organized and attentive to detail.
● Demonstrated experience collaborating and building productive working relationships.
