Job Description

The position will work in coordination with the Youth Development through Agriculture Extension Specialist and Extension programming team to lead, organize, implement, manage, market, and evaluate youth FFA programs and joint 4H/FFA competitions, events and curriculum on the state level and offer expertise, training, and leadership to VA youth participating in State and National FFA events. The position will also assist with state FFA officer development, scheduling, delivery, and evaluating the impact of student-led leadership conferences and events. The position will assist in the planning and coordination of the professional development conferences and logistics for the Virginia Association of Agricultural Educators (VAAE). The position will also assist in stakeholder relations with groups such as the Virginia FFA Alumni Association, Virginia FFA Foundation, FFA camp Board, Virginia Career and Technical Education teachers and local administrators. The candidate will participate fully in the policies and programs of Virginia Cooperative Extension.

Required Qualifications

● Bachelor's degree in agriculture, education, career and technical education, youth development, or a related field.
● Experience in planning, organizing, and implementing youth programs and events.
● Ability to update and maintain websites and communication channels, and experience in logistical planning and event management.
● Ability to collaborate with university and industry partners, and experience in managing and coordinating teams.
● Strong communication and customer service skills.

Preferred Qualifications

● Master's degree in agriculture, education, career and technical education, youth development, or a related field.Experience with FFA and 4-H programs and events.
● Knowledge of competitive event rule guides and directories, and experience in managing registration systems and troubleshooting applications.
● Experience in coordinating regional meetings and events, and providing professional development for formal educators.
● Experience in stakeholder relations with groups such as the Virginia FFA Alumni Association, Virginia FFA Foundation, and FFA camp Board.
● Experience in scheduling and delivering student-led leadership conferences and events.

The successful candidate will be required to have a driver's license check with an acceptable and safe driving record.
