HERE'S WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT THIS ROLE:
YOU’LL BE…
• Reporting directly to the Assistant Director of Information Technology.
• Responsible for the administration, security, and performance of Student Affairs servers and network infrastructure.
• Ensuring the confidentiality, availability, and integrity of information resources by implementing industry best practices in system and network management.
• Collaborating with the Assistant Director of Infrastructure Support and other team members to support and enhance the technological solutions used across the Division of Student Affairs.
• Evaluating emerging technologies to align IT infrastructure with the division's mission and operational goals.
• Be offered a base compensation package between $75,000-$85,000, along with a comprehensive benefits package that includes health insurance, paid leave, retirement, tuition assistance, VT discounts, and so much more!
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Demonstrated experience managing enterprise-level Windows Server, Linux Server, and Active Directory environments.
• Proficiency in web server administration (IIS/Apache), and basic scripting using PowerShell and JavaScript.
• Experience deploying and managing software, operating system updates, and hardware upgrades in an enterprise setting.
• Experience maintaining and monitoring server backup and disaster recovery solutions.
• Knowledge of best practices for network and system security, including patch management and firewall configurations.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a team-oriented approach while maintaining security awareness.
• Working knowledge of SQL Server and Oracle databases.
• Experience with Microsoft Intune management and admin center.
• Working knowledge of server log analysis, Microsoft Defender portal, and automation tools.
• Proficiency with endpoint management tools including Kaseya, JAMF, and BigFix.
The successful candidate will be required to have a criminal conviction check.
