The Research Associate will work in the Addiction Recovery Research Center (ARRC) at the Fralin Biomedical Research Institute at VTC. The successful candidate will work primarily on NIH and other funded projects that are examining long-term recovery in alcohol use and other substance use disorders as well as the theory of Reinforcer Pathology and Episodic Future Thinking as an intervention for substance use, including for tobacco use and in . Responsibilities will also focus on the International Quit & Recovery Registry. Moreover, ARRC has ongoing projects to examine decision-making in health behaviors and health policies. The position is well suited for individuals interested in technology applications and behavioral economics in addiction and health behavior. This position will be involved in developing pilot research programs in the areas of addiction, decision-making and other health behaviors. The selected candidates will be expected to help develop these additional projects.
- Master’s in psychology, neuroscience, or appropriate related discipline.
Possess a record of research excellence as indicated by peer-reviewed publications and presentations.
- Experience in addiction or health behaviors research and/or behavioral economics.
-- Experience with behavior analysis and/or addiction research.
- Clinical trials experience.
