The I-9 Coordinator plays a critical role in ensuring institutional compliance with federal and state employment eligibility verification requirements. This position is responsible for daily monitoring and management of electronic I-9 completions across all university departments, proactively resolving issues and responding to inquiries. The Coordinator collaborates with HR practitioners to meet strict completion deadlines, supports internal audits, and maintains accurate records and reports. Additionally, this role contributes to process and system optimization, serves as a subject matter expert on the electronic I-9 system, and provides guidance and training to stakeholders to promote compliance and operational efficiency.
• Associate's degree in business or related field, or equivalent level of training and/or experience.
• Strong customer service skills and the ability to work and communicate with a diverse clientele.
• Ability to work in a high pressure, deadline-drive environment, with excellent time management skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of an HR support team and maintain confidential information.
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite (especially Excel and Word), Outlook, and internet applications.
• Strong analytical and organizational skills, with a strong attention to detail
• Ability to audit reports, identify inconsistencies, and assist with issue resolution.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Prior experience working with I9 and EVerify software
Non-Exempt: Eligible for overtime
The successful candidate will be required to have a criminal conviction check.
