Reporting to the Pest Management Coordinator for the Division of Facilities operations. This position serves as a secondary point of contact for pest management related issues while providing daily services within our Integrated Pest Management (IPM) program. Additionally, this position will coordinate with the appropriate servicing vendor for the handling of animal control situations that fit within the scope of responsibility. Position will conduct regularly scheduled interior and exterior inspections of Educational and General Assignment buildings and provide feedback for determining appropriate treatment. Will monitor work order flow, maintain documentation on methods and procedures, assist in developing plans, and follow up with customer concerns and treatment areas. This position will be expected to maintain operations when the coordinator is absent. Operate and maintain service vehicles and equipment.
The ideal candidate must possess a Registered Technician License, or have the ability to obtain it within 6 months. Must be detail, action, solution, and results oriented, as well as dedicated to continuous improvement. The successful candidate must have the ability to handle multiple activities, including confidential and sensitive matters with the utmost discretion. The individual is expected to fulfill identified responsibilities with limited supervision, while maintaining effective communication with the Pest Management Coordinator, Quality Control Manager, Director of Custodial Services, and other Facilities Department leaders.
- Must possess Registered Technician Licensure, or obtain within 6 months of hire date
- High School Diploma or GED
- Knowledge of basic office computer software and hardware
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and projects
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Must be capable of working independently
- Ability to partner with team to create strategic processes and procedures.
- Registered Technician Licensure
- Pest management experience in a commercial or educational setting
- Demonstrated experience with quality assessments and continuous improvement
Non-Exempt: Eligible for overtime
-Must be able to walk and stand extensively; climb and work on stairs; safely move or handle up to 50 lbs.: crawl, bend, stoop, reach (including reaching above the head), push/pull, perform repetitive motion, twist, and shovel snow.
-Must be able to safely and efficiently operate electrically powered and manual equipment.
-Emergency Personnel health & safety related
-Normal work hours are 8:00am – 4:30pm, but work hours may vary to meet training and service requirements, as well as management and customer needs.
-May work around large numbers of people especially during class change and special events.
-Must wear employer provided uniforms as instructed by supervisor.
-As situation dictates, must wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
This position meets the criteria for issuance of a mobile communication device (such as radio, cellphone,
iPad, iPod, pager, etc.). Devices issued are the responsibility of the employee and are to be returned in
satisfactory condition upon separation of employment. Devices are to be used according to supervisor
instruction and according to relevant policies.
-Must have an acceptable and safe driving record.
-Must have a driver's license check
-The successful candidate will be required to have a criminal conviction check.
