Initially based in the SMEC alliance office in Brisbane, then relocated to the site office near Toowoomba, at Cressbrook Dam.  Just imagine: working in the freshest air, surrounded by stunning vistas. Seymour Whyte, in an alliance with SMEC and Toowoomba Regional Council, has been awarded the Cressbrook Dam Safety Improvement Project to increase flood capacity and resilience for the region. Representing our client’s largest project to date, the project involves raising the dam crest height, and widening the spillway whilst also aligning the structure with current engineering design standards to ensure the dam’s long-term viability.

About the role:

  • Manage quality production defined by method statements and ITP’s.
  • Monitor construction progress to ensure acceptable quality of structures and finishes.
  • Establish, measure and report daily productivity for assigned activities.
  • Undertake cost controlling and estimating as required by the Project Manager.
  • Manage work teams in the field.

The successful applicant will have the following skills and experience:

  • Hold a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or its equivalent.
  • 2+ years post-graduate experience in a civil construction project.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Suite including Excel.
  • Demonstrated ability to produce a critical path network with up to 100 activities.
  • Ability to prepare, monitor and update short-term production bar charts.
