We are seeking an experienced Safety Manager to join our HSEQ team. Reporting to the General Manager – HSEQ, this role enhances safety capability within our organisation and will have national oversight of regional and project-based health and safety personnel.

Due to the nature of this role, the successful candidate must have the ability to travel as required with minimum notice regionally and interstate to support the business needs.

About the role:

  • Provide high-level strategic advice, counsel, and support to senior operational management ensuring best practice is maintained.
  • Ensure legislative and ISO requirements are met at a corporate level.
  • Identify, design, and implement best practice health and safety across all functions of SWC.
  • Oversee and manage health and safety reporting and statistical, trends analysis.
  • Ensure projects are successfully launched in terms of health and safety requirements.
  • Oversee, manage, and provide support to our teams, ensuring the effective delivery and continuous improvement of occupational health and safety management.

The following criteria is required:

  • Ability to travel nationally and regionally.
  • Minimum 20 year’s construction industry experience.
  • Minimum 10 year’s senior management experience in a similar role.
  • Proven high-level strategic and analytical thinking.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.
  • High-level project management skills.
  • Experience in maintaining company-accredited systems.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills in large and geographically dispersed teams.
