We are seeking a Data Manager to assist the Survey Manager with surveying tasks for the Annual Works Plan. Using advanced equipment like robotic total stations and GNSS, you'll reduce data post-processing, maintain equipment, and ensure compliance with technical standards. Strong communication and stakeholder management are essential, as well as identifying risks, conducting safety assessments, and supporting the Survey Manager with scope development.
About the role:
- Surveying Expertise: Extensive experience with robotic total stations, GNSS, digital levels, and laser scanning, with a focus on railway infrastructure projects.
- Compliance and Risk Management: Knowledge of relevant technical specifications, legislation, and standards (e.g., CRN standards) and the ability to identify risks prior to project work.
- Stakeholder Communication: Strong internal and external communication skills, ensuring all project stakeholders are kept informed and risks are proactively managed.
- Equipment and Software Maintenance: Ensuring survey equipment and software are maintained in line with specifications, warranties, and legal requirements.
- Experience and Qualifications: A tertiary qualification in Surveying, a minimum of three years’ experience as a survey party leader in rail infrastructure, and proficiency in surveying software, preferably Bentley Suite.
The successful applicant will have the following skills and experience:
- Tertiary qualification in Surveying or a TAFE qualification with significant industry experience, eligibility for membership in the Surveying and Spatial Sciences Institute.
- Strong problem-solving, organisational, and mentoring skills, as well as proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Current C-Class Driver’s Licence.
