Speech Language Pathologist - Pediatric (Per Diem)

RESPONSIBILITIES:

1.         Develops and revises plan of treatments and discharge plan in conjunction with patient, family, physician, care delivery team and third-party payors including obtaining medical orders and approval of medical services.

2.         Provides an environment, which promotes respect for the patients, their privacy, confidentiality and property & follows HIPAA regulations.

3.         Consults with and educates the patient, family and other team members regarding disease process, self care techniques preventive strategies, and Plan of Care.

4.         Participates in regularly scheduled patient conferences with nurses, therapists and MSW's for the purpose of discussing patient care, patient/family problems and to ensure comprehensive coordinated plan of treatment.

5.         Assures the completion of all appropriate clinical records needed for compliance with state and federal legislation and the delivery of seamless service within established timeframes.

6.         Refers to appropriate URMHC & community agencies/resources.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

1.         Masters of Arts degree in Speech-Language Pathology.

2.         Possession of a current New York State License in Speech-Language Pathology.

3.         Minimum of one-year experience in a pediatric hospital inpatient setting preferred. Pediatric home care experience preferred.  Per Diem: Pediatric home care experience required.

4.         Certificate of Clinical Competence preferred.

5.         Effective verbal and written communication and computer skills.

6.         Ability to recognize the needs and concerns of people and to maintain constructive working relationships.

7.         Ability to perform speech therapy procedures effectively and safely.

8.         Ability to work with people from different socio-cultural backgrounds in an effective manner.

9.         Ability to accept and utilize supervision.

Salary: $45.00 per hour.
