POSITION SUMMARY:

Prepares and maintains route directions for volunteer and delivery personnel. Prepares and creates reports for the MOW and kitchen personnel. Communicates information between MOW staff at kitchen location, MOW staff at Empire and to kitchen staff. Maintains customer databases, initiating additions and/or changes as required.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Retrieves information from various sources (email, client databases, fax, telephone, etc.) to determine customer changes that will impact meal delivery. Changes could include new participants, discharged participants, temporary or permanent service changes, etc. Assures that all changes are recorded properly in databases and on route directions.
2. Assures that route directions are accurate and efficient and that the deliverers receive proper delivery instructions. Determines which routes to assign new participants. Assures that all changes are documented properly and in a timely manner on the route directions. Reviews and evaluates routes routinely, realigning and reorganizing as needed to maximize the efficient use of resources.
3. Prepares delivery instructions to distribute to volunteers and paid staff (including highlighting frozen meals, redlining, placing directions in sleeves and adding any other notifications).
4. On a daily basis meets volunteers who pick up the route at the kitchen site, contact Volunteer Services if a volunteer is late, and retrieves directions and checks to make sure all equipment has been returned.
5. Prints, reviews, corrects, maps and directions. Maintains and updates map program and client master on a daily basis.
6. Performs data entry into customer databases and various excel spreadsheets, prepares printed reports and labels to facilitate the preparation of meals. Reviews reports to assure accuracy. Assures reports are distributed in a timely manner.
7. Work with Logistics Team Leader, MOW staff, Volunteer Services, and meal preparation staff to coordinate changes that occur during the delivery day.
8. Answers questions from drivers and volunteers regarding routing and provides printed maps and directions as needed.
9. Prepares Daily Drivers Update
10. Routinely completes meal delivery route (minimum 1 volunteer route and/or 1 paid driver route each year) when scheduled and as needed.
11. Responsible for the Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) established by their manager.
12. Performs such similar, comparable, or related duties as may be required or assigned including test meals, holiday meal delivery, emergency meal delivery and pet food delivery.

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Knowledge/Experience
   1. A.A.S. or equivalent preferred.  Working knowledge of computers, especially Word and Excel.  Ability to quickly become proficient with customer database and mapping software.
2. Skills/Aptitudes
   1. Strong writing skills. Demonstrated organizational ability.  Must be able to operate independently in a fast-paced environment.  Ability to deal with people in multiple organizations at various organizational levels.  Ability to coordinate activities or assign tasks to others as needed.  Effective problem solver.
3. Supervision Required
   1. Ability to work under minimal supervision.  Plans and arranges own work, referring only unusual cases to supervisor or others.
4. Work Environment
   1. Ability to work under tight deadlines with limited supervision.
5. Physical Requirements
   1. Possess sufficient mobility to perform the Essential Functions listed in this Job Description with or without an accommodation.
   2. Must be able to tolerate working at a desk for prolonged periods.
   3. Ability to travel to all agency locations, community sites, and activities.

Pay Range: $16.27 to $22.42
