About the role
Expressions of interest are open for the Midwifery Unit Manager (MUM) – Inpatient Services, to assist in backfill for leave coverage required over the next 12 months across the inpatient areas at South Brisbane.
Responsible for the clinical and operational management of our Public and Private Inpatient Services, the Midwifery Unit Manager takes overall responsibility for the health care environment and standard of patient care. The MUM performs as a clinical leader and manager with accountability for culture, quality and safety, patient flow, financial management, change management and the experience of women and families throughout their admission.
Salary range: $71.42 - $76.80 per hour plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900 + access to many staff benefits!
What you’ll be doing
Clinical expertise/Patient care
Suitable applicants for this role will be a Registered or Clinical Midwife with:
- Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Midwife
- Current advanced clinical knowledge and experience in antenatal, intrapartum and postnatal care
- Well-developed interpersonal and communication (both verbal and written) skills
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary environment
- Proven high level competence in leading and managing clinical teams
- Demonstrated ability to effectively manage a clinical cost centre
- Tertiary qualification in Midwifery, health administration or management, clinical leadership, budget management and finance (or working towards)
- Advanced clinical competency and the ability to maintain the highest standards of midwifery practice
