Mater Research has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Research Assistant to join our Clinical Mother & Baby Program within the NHMRC Centre of Research Excellence in Stillbirth (Stillbirth CRE), based at our South Brisbane campus.

This full-time, maximum term role (until December 2026) offers the chance to make a meaningful impact by supporting the implementation of best-practice guidelines for stillbirth prevention—helping to improve outcomes for mothers, babies, and families across Australia.

Salary range: $41.48 - $44.69 per hour plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900  + access to many staff benefits! 

What you’ll be doing

In this role, you will contribute to the coordination, implementation, and evaluation of perinatal health initiatives and research projects across the Stillbirth CRE. You’ll:

  • Coordinate project activities, meetings, workshops, and site visits across key stillbirth prevention programs.
  • Support research activities including ethics submissions, data collection and analysis, and literature reviews.
  • Assist with the development of reports, manuscripts, and educational resources.
  • Help maintain and update learning and communication platforms, including LMS and website content.

About you

You’re an organised, proactive, and detail-oriented professional with experience supporting clinical or public health research projects. You have strong communication skills and thrive in a collaborative, purpose-driven environment.

You will also bring:

  • Tertiary qualifications in public health or a health-related science, or equivalent experience.
  • Demonstrated experience providing research or project support in a clinical or research setting.
  • Experience with ethics and governance submissions.
  • Skills in quantitative and qualitative data collection, analysis, and reporting.
  • Strong written communication skills, with experience drafting reports or manuscripts.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with LMS or online program content is desirable.
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
