Join our dynamic team and shape the future of advanced manufacturing and automation! We’re looking for an Assistant Professor of Mechatronics to inspire and educate the next generation of technicians and engineers, beginning Fall 2025 semester.
As a key faculty member, you’ll develop and deliver engaging coursework, oversee lab experiences, and help students gain the critical skills needed for careers in mechatronics and industrial automation. You’ll also collaborate with colleagues and local industry leaders to keep our program cutting-edge and aligned with workforce demands.
Our ideal candidate is a hands-on educator with expertise in PLCs, automation, and electromechanical systems. Skilled in troubleshooting, control theory, and programming (C, C++, Python), our next instructor will effectively teach complex concepts while emphasizing safety and real-world applications. Work Schedule: This position has summers off! Regular schedule is mid-Aug to mid-May with pay and benefits over 12 months.
Starting pay range: $47,328 - $70,554

This Special Appointment position is dependent upon an Industry Sector Grant funded by the Idaho Workforce Development Council through September 2026 and could be extended based on the needs of the program and continued funding.
Minimum Qualifications
Education and Experience: Associate’s degree in a related field and six (6) years of recent full-time equivalent experience in an area related to the needs of the program OR a Bachelor’s degree in a related field and four (4) years of recent full-time equivalent experience related to the needs of the program; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Demonstrated sensitivity to the needs of students, faculty, and staff from multi-cultural backgrounds.
Required License and/or Certifications:
• Must achieve related Idaho CTE Postsecondary Limited Occupational Specialist Certification within first 12 months of employment.
