About the Role

Working as the Team Leader Land Management you will lead a team that works with landholders to implement land management legislation, undertakes assessment of related applications, and advises landholders on best practice and their responsibilities under the Land Management Framework.

Key responsibilities include;

  • Lead a high performing team to deliver regulatory processes under the Land Management Code, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives, budget management, and resource planning
  • Develop and implement policies, procedures, and guidelines to support consistent and compliant decision making under the Code and the Local Land Services Act
  • Foster strong stakeholder relationships across regions and communities, ensuring clear communication of regulatory responsibilities and consistent on-ground outcomes
  • Provide expert advice and analysis to senior management and stakeholders, supporting land managers and partner organisations
  • Oversee the evaluation and recommendation of notifications and certificates for approval, ensuring low risk and consistent implementation of the Code
  • Coordinate reporting, monitoring, and performance reviews to inform strategic decision-making and continuous improvement
  • Support emergency management and natural disaster response activities as required.

About You

Ideally you will have:

  • Previous experience and/or qualifications in Land Management (Native Vegetation clearing) regulations or similar;
  • An attention to detail in reviewing documentation developed by the team;
  • Previous experience engaging and forming strong relationships with landholders;
  • Proven experience coordinating and influencing multidisciplinary teams to work together with a range of external and internal stakeholders to achieve regulatory outcomes;
  • Demonstrated experience balancing and managing a range of competing and conflicting priorities in a politically sensitive environment.
  • Current Driver Licence and the ability and willingness to travel overnight.

Having a positive and solution focused attitude, you’ll be able to think creatively and solve complex problems for both you and others as they arise. You’ll also be able to work autonomously with limited supervision and to get things done.
