About the role
Calvary North Adelaide Hospital have an exciting opportunity to join the team as an experienced Clinical Nurse in our 8 Bed ICU/HDU. FTE 0.8 (could be negotiable)

As a Clinical Nurse in the Intensive Care Unit you will be approachable and provide support and guidance to other staff members, participate in policy/procedure development and review, provide progress reports of portfolio outcomes to the Clinical Manager, demonstrate an ability to work positively within a team to achieve shared team goals, act as an advocate to assist both patients and staff in making informed decisions, and contribute to quality improvement programs and other facility activities to meet Accreditation Standards.
The Clinical Nurse position is rostered over 7 days, with 12 hour and 8-hour shift options, which will include 12 hour days or nights, or a combination of early, late and night duty.
Key Responsibilities
- Accountable for the delivery of direct patient care
- Provides support and direct supervision to Registered, Graduate and student nurses
- Assists in professional development of staff by maintaining an education and development focus
- Supports a positive professional workplace culture
- Manages a portfolio in alignment with the 8 National Safety and Quality Health Services Standards
- Willingness to perform in a relieving role as a Clinical Manager
What you bring
- Minimum 3 years’ recent experience in a critical care environment
- Post Graduate Certificate or Higher in Intensive/Critical Care
- Registered with AHPRA
- Demonstrate communication, interpersonal skills and customer service skills
- Ability to work unsupervised, proficiently and in an organised manner during periods of high demand and activity
- A desire to join a team committed to the care of others in a mission based organisation
