Job Duties
Provides radiologic and mammographic support in the medical department at Fluvanna Correctional Center for Women
Performs digital diagnostic x-rays and mammograms in a correctional medical setting and performs related administrative support
Performs requested x-rays with accurate positioning, exposures and documents appropriate information in the medical records
Performs requested mammographic examinations with accurate positioning and exposures as per Mammography Quality Standard Act and American College of Radiology regulations
Performs quality radiographic examinations while utilizing safe radiation exposure factors
Ensures radiographic images are immediately downloaded to UVA for reading and reports given to providers in a timely manner
Keeps statistical data, to include, mammogram annual screening reminders
Advanced expertise necessary to retain accreditation (MSQA, ACR) for quality control, quality improvement, and safety
Minimum Qualifications
Demonstrated ability to operate Digital x-ray and mammographic equipment.
Demonstrated ability to maintain accurate records.
Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with inmates and staff.
Working knowledge of operation and preventive maintenance of radiologic equipment.
Skills in the use of computers and Microsoft Office Software to include Word and Excel.
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Must be licensed in the state of Virginia to practice as a Radiologic Technologist.
Must have Associate of Applied Science Degree in Radiography.
Must be registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists in radiography and mammography.
Progressive experience in Radiology especially Mammography.
Must have Mammography certification.
