The Opportunity
Join us and play a key role in driving the success of clinical projects while overseeing laboratory operations. You’ll ensure efficiency, compliance, and smooth project execution while leading a team of dedicated lab staff. Please note, this role requires flexibility to travel to different clinical trial sites as needed, and to work outside standard business hours to support confinement studies and other time-sensitive trial activities. You may also be required to participate in a 24/7 on-call or confinement roster.

You will
- manage and oversee the clinical trial laboratory facilities including processes, compliance (Genetically Modified Organisms-Office of the Gene Technology Regulator requirements) and safety requirements, accreditation (Physical containment classification), scheduled testing and maintenance and access;
- oversee quality assurance within the laboratory practices; and
- obtaining, administering and overseeing the appropriate licences and certifications required on trials.
About you
You are a skilled communicator and relationship builder, with a proven ability to establish and maintain strong connections with stakeholders, including sponsors, investigators, study staff, and external vendors. Equally comfortable working independently or collaborating within a team, you thrive in dynamic environments where adaptability and teamwork are key. Your high standards of verbal and written communication ensure clarity and professionalism in all interactions, making you a valuable asset to any project or team.
You will possess:
- Completion of an undergraduate degree in a related science or health care discipline with at least 5 years clinical research experience (particularly sponsored clinical trials) or commercial pathology;
- Experience in managing projects and protocols within a clinical trial laboratory;
- Demonstrated competence in general laboratory practices and biological sample handling. Peripheral Blood Mononuclear Cells experience strongly desirable;
- Demonstrated experience with the implementation of quality improvement and risk management strategies applicable to a clinical trial laboratory;
- Knowledge and operating competency with Laboratory Information Systems, Clinical Trial Management Systems, Microsoft Office applications and Quality Management Systems and proven data analysis skills;
- Knowledge of the International Conference on Harmonisation Good Clinical Practice (ICHGCP) and ethical and regulatory requirements; and
- Demonstrated understanding of ICHGCP and GLP principles. International Air transport Association certification desirable.
