Associate Nurse Unit Manager – Vascular Surgery (Operating Theatres, Tasmania)

We are inviting Expressions of Interest for an Associate Nurse Unit Manager (ANUM) in Vascular Surgery within the Operating Theatres at the Royal Hobart Hospital. This is a fantastic opportunity to grow your leadership skills while supporting our team in delivering outstanding surgical care.

Why step into this role?

As an ANUM in Vascular, you’ll:

  • Work alongside the Nurse Unit Manager to guide and support our dedicated team of scrub/scout and anaesthetic/recovery nurses.
  • Work alongside and communicate with the multidisciplinary team e.g. doctors, reps and clinic staff.
  • Be responsible alongside the Rep for the Coordination of surgical equipment- this will require you to have the ability to liaise with other hospitals and supply companies.
  • Play a key role in coordinating safe, timely, and patient-centred surgical care.
  • Be a visible leader in the theatre environment – someone staff can turn to for support, advice, and encouragement.
  • Help shape our positive, respectful, and collaborative workplace culture.
  • Gain valuable experience in leadership, workforce coordination, and quality improvement projects.

  • Have solid perioperative experience, ideally in Vascular Surgery.

Details of Appointment

Fixed term, full time, shift worker position, working up to 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible for twelve (12) months. 

Please note that hours may be negotiated with the successful applicant

Classification: Registered Nurse Grade 5

Salary $106,570 - $112,440 per annum (pro rata) + 12% superannuation + access to salary packaging

  • Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmania State Service) Agreement 2023

Eligibility

Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria:

  • Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse

Applicants should note the following criteria are desirable:

  • Holds, or is working towards, relevant postgraduate qualifications

Under particular circumstances employees may be required to undertake a new conviction check.
