About the Role

We currently have a nine month fixed term contract Leading Hand Natural Resource Management role. This pivotal roles will report into the Program Lead and will be based from our North East Regional Office in Croydon.

As the Leading Hand you will be responsible for providing in-field oversight to a small crew of 4 for the work delivery of natural resource management, grass management and civil maintenance on Melbourne Eater’s Waterways & Land assets across the North East of Melbourne.

About you:

  • Demonstrated experience and capabilities working with and leading crews in a Civil, NRM and/or Land Management, grass management, construction/maintenance environment.
  • Ability to work and contribute in a team environment to improve processes, respond to various demands and manage multiple activities simultaneously
  • Demonstrated experience operating plant and/ or equipment to undertake grass management and civil maintenance with relevant certificate of competency
  • Sound interpersonal skills and an ability to communicate clearly and effectively with a wide range of people both within Melbourne Water, external organisations and with the general public
  • Certificate/ Diploma in Civil/Environmental disciplines or relevant related work
  • Ability to work under pressure and in emergency situations
  • Valid Victorian Driver’s license
