West Region Delivery Team have been engaged by Sydney Water to deliver design, construction, maintenance and facility management services for ten (10) years across Sydney Water’s wastewater, water and recycled water systems. Programmed is one of the JV partners within The West Region Delivery Team.

 

The Role

We have a new full-time opportunity for an Asset Engineer who will be working at the intersection of data, operations and maintenance, and strategy. The role will support the Service Delivery team to monitor and measure the reliability and performance of assets, ensure assets meet KPIs and design specifications, are maintained according to best practice, and are properly captured and tracked.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct data analysis across end-to-end maintenance delivery, from analysis through to client engagement and outcomes.
  • Translate data into clear advice and practical decisions for clients and internal teams.
  • Support the Service Delivery team in implementing strategies, processes, and audit programs to enhance asset data capture, tracking, and reporting for key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Collaborate across internal and client teams on initiatives including operational readiness, reliability engineering and productivity improvement.
  • Work with the Asset and Performance Manager to track asset performance, develop performance insights, build the Integrated Works Program, and other tasks as directed.
  • Champion continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to enhance data processes, reporting frameworks, and ensuring data integrity.

 

Skills and Experience

  • A degree in Engineering, Science, Technology, Business, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Proven experience in data analysis, business analytics and performance reporting.
  • Experience across the asset lifecycle or project lifecycle in utilities or infrastructure is a strong advantage.
  • Proficiency in Excel and demonstrated literacy in PowerBI and asset management systems.
  • Demonstrated literacy in business applications such as Maximo or SAP is highly desirable.
  • A self-starter mindset — you’re comfortable identifying gaps, proposing solutions, and taking initiative to drive improvements.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to turn insights into outcomes.
