The Role

We are now seeking a focused Estimator with experience in the building and construction industry to join our Burswood Facility Management team.

Reporting to the Manager Capital Works, you will contribute to the financial and operational performance through the preparation of timely and accurate estimates in accordance with the policies and procedures. You will be responsible for actively communicating the risks and mitigation strategies within the estimate in order to allow operations to successfully deliver all contracted work with zero harm meeting budgetary requirements and quality standards.

 

Key responsibilities

  • Actively participate in conversion of quote to actual
  • Train operations staff in delivering accurate and timely site measurements for scoping and estimating
  • Accurately assesses and measure projects
  • Estimates are scheduled and prioritised in order to meet business needs
  • Use current estimating system to generate estimates in a timely accurate manner
  • Ensure a disciplined approach is taken in regards to pricing and margin control
  • Ensure all spending is in line with authority matrix.
  • Actively identify hazards in the workplace and implement corrective action
  • Identification of risks and assisting the client and Facility Management in mitigating them to acceptable levels.

 

Skills and experience

  • Appropriate qualifications in building/construction
  • Proven track record in estimating or related industry experience in a similar role
  • Mathematical competency
  • Current drivers licence
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Project
  • Satisfactory verbal and written communication skills
