Programmed Facility Management is seeking an experienced Trade Assistant to join our team at Sunrise Dam, supporting maintenance across village and site facilities.

Working on an 8:6 FIFO roster out of Perth, this role is suited to candidates with strong site experience, the right tickets, and a willingness to work in a physically demanding FIFO environment.

The Opportunity

As a Trade Assistant, you’ll play a key role in supporting the maintenance team across electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and carpentry disciplines.

This is a hands-on, physically demanding role, where you’ll assist trades with maintenance tasks, material handling, and general site support to ensure operations run efficiently.

You’ll be working across village and facilities infrastructure, contributing to the delivery of safe, high-quality maintenance outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist trades with maintenance, repairs, and minor works across site
• Provide general support to electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and carpentry teams
• Operate equipment including forklifts and EWPs
• Assist with material handling, deliveries, and site logistics
• Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a safe and organised condition
• Support general site upkeep and maintenance activities
• Follow all safety procedures and site requirements
• Work collaboratively with the maintenance team to meet operational needs

About You

You’re an experienced Trade Assistant with a solid background working on FIFO or remote sites, and you understand what’s required to perform in a high-demand environment.

You’re reliable, physically capable, and comfortable supporting multiple trades across a variety of tasks.

You will have:

• Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Trade Assistant on site (required)
• Previous FIFO or remote site experience (required)
• Ability to work in a physically demanding role (manual handling, outdoor work, long shifts)
• Strong understanding of site safety requirements and procedures
• A proactive, team-focused attitude

Requirements

• Full Australian working rights
• Valid C Class Driver’s Licence
• Ability to pass a pre-employment medical and drug & alcohol screening
• Current National Police Check (valid within the last 3 months)

Mandatory:

• Forklift Licence (LF)
• EWP Licence
• Working at Heights
• Confined Space
• Construction White Card

Desirable:

• First Aid
• Experience in FIFO village or facilities maintenance environments

Location Requirement:
Candidates must be Perth-based (or able to commute to Perth for flights) or reside in Kalgoorlie.
