What does the job look like?

As Senior Shift Manager, you will lead day‑to‑day transport operations supporting a major supermarket retail operation, ensuring safe, compliant and high‑performing outcomes across people, customers and financial results. This is a permanent, full‑time role based at Kemps Creek, working a predominantly Monday–Friday roster, with occasional weekend coverage to support planned leave. You will provide AM and PM operational oversight in a fast‑paced environment where safety, service and efficiency are critical.

Key areas:

  • Lead daily site operations to support safety, service, compliance and EBIT goals
  • Drive safe work practices aligned to Vision Zero, Stop for Safety and fatigue‑management standards
  • Manage key financial drivers, including cost control, payroll accuracy and subcontractor rates
  • Lead and develop Allocators, Drivers and subcontractors to ensure capability and coverage
  • Maintain strong service delivery for a major supermarket customer through proactive communication
  • Oversee transport plan execution to meet OTD targets, avoid carryover and optimise utilisation

Are you the one?

You are an experienced leader who thrives in operational environments requiring decisive leadership, commercial acumen and visible safety ownership. You are comfortable leading large, diverse teams across AM and PM shifts, balancing supermarket customer expectations with operational efficiency. You can demonstrate:

  • Proven leadership experience within transport, logistics or large‑scale retail operations
  • Plays a key role in monitoring financial performance and providing input into commercial decisions
  • Strong capability in leading safety performance, incident management and compliance outcomes
  • Experience managing drivers, allocators and subcontractors in a high‑volume environment
  • Ability to execute operational plans while responding effectively to real‑time disruptions
  • Flexibility to work a Monday–Friday roster, providing consistent morning and afternoon shift coverage
