Are you ready to kick-start your career in the logistics industry? Aurizon is seeking a reliable and safety-focused individual to join our Bulk Terminal Operations team in Forrestfield. This entry-level opportunity is ideal for local applicants who hold a minimum C Class driver’s licence and are eager to learn in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

About the Role:

As a Gatehouse Operator, you’ll play a crucial role in coordinating freight movement and supporting smooth terminal operations. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Monitoring and recording containerised freight movements in and out of the depot
  • Liaising with supervisors to confirm freight details, including quantities, types, and ETAs
  • Ensuring accurate and compliant data entry aligned with the National Heavy Vehicle Scheme
  • Managing paperwork including delivery dockets, consignment notes, receipts, labels, and release forms
  • Communicating clearly with truck drivers, yard staff, and team members via radio and in person
  • Generating reports, run sheets, and maintaining system data
  • Supporting 24/7 gatehouse operations across rotating day and night shifts

Note: Duties may evolve based on operational needs.

About You

We’re looking for someone who is organised, detail-focused, and committed to safety. You’ll bring:

  • A valid C Class driver’s licence (mandatory)
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Basic Microsoft Office proficiency and adaptability to new systems
  • Good problem-solving and coordination abilities
  • The ability to work independently and meet deadlines

Desirable but not essential:

  • Experience in logistics, transport, or freight operations
  • Forklift licence
  • Understanding of road and rail freight processes
