Qualified Locomotive Drivers 

Aurizon is seeking qualified Locomotive Drivers to join our team in Ceduna, South Australia. 

As a Locomotive Driver with Aurizon - Bulk Central, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently operating locomotives, ensuring the smooth transport of freight across our extensive rail network. You will work within a supportive, safety-conscious team, striving for operational excellence and maintaining the highest service standards.

When you work on a public holiday, you’ll be paid 7.6 hours at your regular rate, plus 1.5x for any hours worked. About the role:

• Operation of locomotives, including mainline, shunting, and marshalling. 
• Examine and certify trains as ready for departure. 
• Work in accordance with Aurizon's safety and operational standards and procedures. 
• Maintain a high level of on-time running. 
• Prepare and conduct brake testing on locomotives. 
• Provide high-quality customer service to enable Aurizon to meet its set business objectives. 

About you:

• Strong commitment to safety and Aurizon’s safety strategy “I Know Safe, I Choose Safe.” Availability to work a 24/7 shift roster. 
• Experience working with ARTC Code of Practice & Safe Working systems (SA, WA) is advantageous. 
• Experience operating air brake. 
• Extensive freight and/or heavy haulage locomotive driving experience. 
• A Certificate IV in Rail Operations. 
• Current unrestricted driver’s licence. 

The ability to successfully pass pre-employment checks such as driving history checks, reference checks, and a CAT 1 Rail medical is required for these roles. Please note, these positions are not FIFO/DIDO.
