The Opportunity

Join us as the Research Fellow in Rural Health Literacy and be part of a funded project aimed at investigating the impact of a co-designed communication training resource on rural patient populations.

Collaborating with consumers and clinicians from rural chronic disease settings, you will refine and evaluate an existing training resource (Check-back) to determine its effectiveness in improving health literacy and self-efficacy among individuals with chronic conditions in Western Victoria and NW Tasmania. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to innovative research that directly impacts healthcare outcomes in rural communities.

We are seeking someone with a doctoral qualification in the relevant discipline or possesses equivalent qualifications with extensive experience, ideally within a rural health service setting. Your demonstrated expertise in health service research, co-design and clinical trials experience, coupled with a strong track record of refereed research publications, will be crucial for the success of this project.

If you are committed to making a difference in rural healthcare, we invite you to apply for this unique opportunity. Join us in our mission to enhance health literacy and empower rural patients with chronic diseases, and become part of a dynamic team dedicated to improving healthcare outcomes for underserved communities.

Diversity is one of our greatest strengths at Monash. We encourage applications from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, culturally and linguistically diverse people, people with disabilities, neurodiverse people, and people of all genders, sexualities, and age groups.

Join the pursuit of our purpose to build a better future for ourselves and our communities – #ChangeIt with us.

Monash avidly supports flexible and hybrid working arrangements. We have a range of policies in place enabling staff to combine work and personal commitments. This includes supporting parents

Your employment is contingent upon the satisfactory completion of all pre-employment and/or background checks required for the role, as determined by the University.
