The Opportunity

The Drug Delivery, Disposition and Dynamics Theme is currently recruiting for a Research Fellow to join the team.

In this role, the research fellow will work on a number of projects, both academic and in collaboration with industrial partners, focusing on the central nervous system exposure of therapeutic entities, approaches to manipulate the blood-brain barrier (BBB) and microglial phenotype in order to reverse neurodegenerative diseases, and assessment of pharmacokinetics of novel drugs and drug formulations.

You will be involved in projects utilising animal models of disease, in vitro cell culture, pharmaceutical analysis and imaging modalities. You will have the opportunity to be exposed to national collaborative partners (academic and industrial) and will have an opportunity to publish findings in internationally-recognised journals.

To be successful in this role, you will hold a doctoral degree in the relevant discipline, and have demonstrated ability to undertake behavioural studies in animal models of neurodegeneration, preferably with Alzheimer’s disease and motor neurone disease. You will have the ability to evaluate markers of disease progression through techniques such as immunohistochemistry.
