The Opportunity

This Research Fellow position offers an exceptional opportunity to contribute to an NHMRC Ideas Grant investigating G protein-coupled estrogen receptor (GPER) signalling and identify novel selective GPER agonists to prevent cognitive impairment in post-menopausal women. 

Working within the GPCR EcoPharmacology Laboratory at Monash Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences (MIPS) and collaborating closely with the neurovascular research teams led by Professor Chris Sobey at La Trobe University, you will join a highly multidisciplinary environment spanning G protein-coupled receptor (GPCR) pharmacology, cerebrovascular physiology, neuroinflammation, and translational drug discovery.

About you

  • A PhD in Pharmacology, Molecular Biology, Biomedical Science, or a related discipline.
  • Strong hands-on experience in molecular pharmacology, preferably GPCR-focused
  • Solid understanding of receptor pharmacology 
  • Evidence of high-quality publications and independent research capabilities.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Experience with primary cell culture
  • Interest in translational drug discovery
