Rosebery is an underground polymetallic base metal mine located in the township of Rosebery in Tasmania, Australia. The mine is a deep, sub-level open stoping operation with complex mining conditions.

The Rosebery Mine has been at the heart of the Rosebery community since 1936 and is one of Tasmania’s largest and oldest continuously operating, underground mines producing zinc, copper and lead concentrates, as well as gold doré.

It supports approximately 500 employees and their families, has a strong community focus and engages a wide range of local businesses from across Tasmania in its supply chain boosting the economy of the West Coast of Tasmania and beyond.

The mine has a strong future, with extensive exploration activities which have continued to grow the resource and require mine planning beyond 10 years of continued operation.

MMG Rosebery has an office in Burnie (Tasmania), giving employees the flexibility to work from there when they are not required onsite.

Rosebery is seeking Expressions of Interest for Mining Engineers. Whether you prefer residential, DIDO (Drive-In/Drive-Out), or FIFO (Fly-In/Fly-Out) arrangements, we offer flexible options to suit your lifestyle. With fully paid FIFO arrangements from the eastern states or relocation support to the West Coast of Tasmania, with site-based accommodation in Rosebery on an 8:6 roster

Engineers with Underground, Sub Level Stoping experience and who excel in the following areas are strongly encouraged to submit their interest:

• Drill and Blast
• Short to Medium Term Scheduling
• Production Management

About You:

• Degree in Mining Engineer or equivalent
• 2–5 years of experience in underground metalliferous mining, demonstrating a solid understanding of operational and technical requirements.
• At least 1 year of hands-on underground experience, including time spent in both development and production environments.
• Strong written and verbal English communication skills, capable of conveying technical and operational information clearly across diverse teams.
• Ability to quickly adapt to changing operational variables and dynamic underground mining environments while maintaining focus on priorities.
• Demonstrated ability to perform effectively and make sound decisions in high-pressure situations,
• Comprehensive knowledge of underground mining methods, equipment, and processes, with a focus on operational efficiency and safety.
• Proficiency in mine design, incorporating geotechnical, economic, and operational considerations to optimize resource extraction with an in-depth understanding of drilling and blasting techniques, including design, execution, and optimization for safe and effective operations.
