As a Claims & Injury Management Specialist for our Northern Region, you’ll play a key role in enabling that safety through the end-to-end management of workplace and non-work-related injury, illness and claims across a diverse and fast-paced environment.

 

Reporting to the Head of Health & Wellbeing, this role supports the delivery of best-practice early intervention, return-to-work, and personal injury management across multiple jurisdictions. You’ll work closely with leaders across Safety, HR, Workplace Relations and external partners to resolve complex matters with care, compliance and commercial awareness.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Manage workers’ compensation and personal injury claims end-to-end across NT, ACT, QLD and NSW, ensuring compliance across relevant legislation.
  • Lead early intervention and return-to-work strategies in line with internal frameworks and jurisdictional requirements.
  • Provide expert advice and technical support on injury, claims, and fitness for work issues to managers, HR, and key stakeholders.
  • Partner with medical professionals, insurers and legal providers to resolve complex matters, including disputes and litigation.
  • Guide pre-employment medical reviews and ensure documentation supports safe hiring decisions.
  • Respond to mental health escalations with empathy and speed, activating appropriate crisis or support services.
  • Contribute to safety and wellbeing projects, compliance reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives across the business.

 

About You:

 

  • 5–7+ years’ experience in workers’ compensation, claims, injury management and return to work, ideally in a large or multi-site environment.
  • Good working knowledge of relevant legislation across multiple jurisdictions is preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage end-to-end claims and provide expert technical guidance to leaders and stakeholders.
  • Skilled in building trusted relationships, influencing at senior levels and supporting collaborative resolution.
  • Highly organised, detail-oriented and proactive in managing competing priorities.
  • Strong communicator with sound documentation and reporting skills to support internal processes and investigations.
  • Passionate about creating safer, healthier workplaces through practical, people-first solutions.
