At The Star Entertainment Group, our purpose is simple: to be Australia’s entertainment destination of choice. With The Star Brisbane at the heart of the new Queen’s Wharf Brisbane precinct, we’re transforming how people play, shop, and socialize in the river city. Offering world-class hotels, dining, luxury retail, gaming, and a state-of-the-art Event Centre, we’re delivering a new era of hospitality in Brisbane.

About the Role:

As an Activations Manager at Queen’s Wharf Precinct, you’ll play a key role in delivering a number of high-profile activations annually—events of national significance that enhance the visibility, reputation, and revenue of The Star Brisbane (TSB) and Queen’s Wharf Brisbane.

Reporting to the Director of Activations, this newly created role will see you planning, executing, and delivering large-scale events and activations that drive awareness and increase visitation. You’ll collaborate with top-tier external event agencies (such as Rizer), government bodies, tourism organizations, and internal teams (Marketing, Operations, and Guest Experience) to create world-class activations that elevate the precinct’s appeal.

If you thrive in fast-paced, high-impact environments and are looking to make a lasting mark on Brisbane’s hospitality and events landscape, this is your opportunity!

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead agency and internal stakeholder collaboration to ensure seamless event execution, including securing permits, approvals, community engagement, and logistics.
  • Oversee the successful delivery of sponsor and partner activations in collaboration with internal teams and external agencies.
  • Coordinate venue services (cleaning, security, first aid, and F&B operations) to ensure exceptional event execution.
  • Develop and finalize the F&B event program with event agencies, ensuring operational requirements are met on time and within budget.
  • Activate community-based sponsorships, including cultural events and public programs, in partnership with joint venture partners, the State Government, and tourism bodies.
  • Manage budgets and financial processes, including raising purchase orders, tracking expenses, reporting, and liaising with Finance.
  • Track project deliverables using Microsoft Project, ensuring all events adhere to timelines and stakeholder expectations.
  • Maintain detailed documentation, including meeting minutes, agendas, reports, and post-event evaluations.

About You:

You are a highly organized, strategic, and hands-on events professional with a track record of delivering large-scale activations in public spaces. You excel at stakeholder management, thrive in fast-paced environments, and aren’t afraid to get your hands dirty to ensure every event is executed flawlessly.

This permanent, hybrid role offers the chance to work in the heart of Brisbane, with endless career development opportunities across The Star Entertainment Group. You’ll play a pivotal role in shaping the Queen’s Wharf Precinct, driving guest satisfaction, increasing visitation, and delivering unforgettable experiences.

What You Bring:

  • Proven experience in delivering high-profile public events and activations, including securing permits and managing complex stakeholder relationships.
  • Strong ability to plan, problem-solve, and make decisions in high-pressure, high-volume environments.
  • Demonstrated experience leading teams and managing tight, conflicting deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills with the confidence to lead discussions, influence stakeholders, and manage competing demands.
  • A positive, can-do attitude and willingness to roll up your sleeves to make every activation a success.

Benefits:

  • Complimentary meal on-site every day, including hot meals, sandwich bar, and more.
  • Flexible working arrangements in a hybrid model.
  • Heavily discounted onsite city parking at $8/day.
  • Up to 30% discounts across award-winning restaurants and accommodation.
  • Career development, training, and courses via The Star Academy – limitless career opportunities.
  • An organization that values diversity, teamwork, and being your best self.
  • Lifestyle discounts, including gym memberships, retail offers, and dry-cleaning services.
  • Paid parental leave from Day 1, with secondary carer’s leave also available.
  • Access to mental health and well-being services.
