As our Employee Relations Advisor, reporting to the Senior Employee Relations Advisor, you will facilitate and provide resolution advice on various Industrial Relations and Employee Relations matters that comply with company policies.
This is a fantastic opportunity where you will be proactive and passionate about all things ER and enjoy the challenges of both low and high-risk cases!
A few of your responsibilities:
- Support and provide expert advice to frontline managers involving behavioural or performance management related matters, disputes on leave, grievances, non-work-related injuries and long-term unplanned leave
- End-to-end case management of all medium and high-risk ER cases to resolution
- Lead and conduct workplace investigations into employee grievances and allegations to resolution
- Deliver effective coaching and development to line managers resulting in a positive impact on business performance and preventing a re-occurrence of issues
- Represent The Star in industrial relations and employee relations matters with team members, unions, employer bodies and industrial authorities for lower risk matters
What we will be looking for:
- 2 years’ IR/ER experience within a high volume and fast-paced environment.
- Understanding of relevant workplace legislation, regulations, and enterprise agreements.
- Understanding of the operation of the Fair Work Commission and other employment related agencies.
- High level consultation, negotiation and dispute resolution skills with key business stakeholders.
- Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources, Industrial Relations or Employee Relations preferred.

You thrive in managing end-to-end cases, particularly those involving operational, blue-collar workers, where you can make a real difference for team members while supporting business objectives. With a strong focus on delivering high-quality customer service, you act as the first point of contact for employee relations matters, providing expert advice and guidance to leaders and team members alike. You enjoy conducting workplace investigations, supporting performance management processes, and ensuring alignment with legislation, policies, and procedures.
