Senior Legal Counsel – The Star Sydney Legal

The Senior Legal Counsel The Star Sydney role reports directly to the General Counsel The Star Sydney and is responsible providing general commercial legal advice relating to The Star Sydney’s operations, including in relation to contracts with suppliers, marketing, sales, retail leasing, liquor licensing, customer promotions, IP, privacy, competition and consumer law, and regulatory obligations.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a general commercial lawyer to become a trusted advisor to a number of key stakeholders across The Star Sydney’s operations.

 

A few of your responsibilities:

  • Supervise and work with the Legal Counsel in providing legal services to The Star Sydney.
  • Review, draft and advise regarding contracts on a wide array of subject matters such as marketing, sales, entertainment and casino operations
  • Advising on regulatory matters and requirements including liquor and gaming related legislation and instruments related to The Star Sydney business
  • Review and advice regarding consumer promotions, competitions, tournaments
  • Review and advice regarding property and intellectual property matters
  • Provision of legal advice regarding general legal queries on topics such as dispute resolution, privacy, NDAs, public liability claims and supplier contracts

 

What we will be looking for:

  • Undergraduate degree in law
  • Admitted to practice in New South Wales and holder of practising certificate in New South Wales
  • At least 8 years’ post-qualification legal experience with general commercial contracting and corporate advisory experience
  • Top tier law firm experience will be highly regarded
  • Experience in a regulated environment and/or gambling entertainment industry desirable
