Health and Safety Business Partner
Job no: 514054
Work type: Permanent - full time
Location: Sydney
Categories: Health & Safety Partner
About the Opportunity
With safety prioritized above all else at Boral and Concrite, we look out for each other and are committed to zero harm across our operations. An opportunity exists for a proactive Health & Safety Business Partner to join our Health and Safety team, supporting our Concrite concrete operations across NSW and ACT, as well as Boral's Laboratory network spanning NSW, VIC and QLD.
Your primary focus will be to support Concrite’s operational sites and our Construction Materials Testing Labs by ensuring business unit issues are understood, risks are well controlled, and compliance and assurance measures are embedded. This is a highly visible role working closely with the frontline, helping align operational risks with health and safety controls, and driving consistency of safety practices across both site and lab environments.
This is a permanent, full-time opportunity with travel required across NSW and ACT, as well as occasional interstate travel to our labs in VIC and QLD. To support this, you will receive a motor vehicle allowance. This is not a FIFO role – you’ll be home each weekend.
Key Objectives
• Partner with operational and lab leaders to build capability and embed a strong safety culture.
• Support the rollout of the Boral Health & Safety Strategy across all business units.
• Facilitate effective incident management, ensuring investigations, root cause analysis, and learnings are applied consistently across both operational and lab settings.
What You’ll Be Doing
• Engaging with leaders and teams across sites and labs to understand challenges and provide practical safety solutions.
• Supporting risk management initiatives and coaching teams on safe work practices.
• Leading incident response, analysis, and sharing of lessons learned.
• Supporting operations and labs with regulatory compliance preparation, audits, statutory reporting and prescribed incident notifications.
• Delivering assurance audits and monitoring close-out of WHS actions in line with national programs.
What We’re Looking For
• A positive, proactive partner with strong relationship-building and influencing skills.
• Proven experience in a high-risk industry (concrete, quarrying, construction, or lab/testing environments highly regarded).
• Strong background in incident investigation and embedding organisational learnings.
• Demonstrated ability to implement and manage organisational change in complex environments.
• Strong knowledge of WHS legislation, systems, and processes.
• Cert IV or Diploma in Work Health & Safety (minimum).
• Excellent communication, coaching and stakeholder engagement skills.
