We are seeking a capable and energetic Management Accountant to join our high performing national Cement Finance Team. The Management Accountant is responsible for providing accurate financial insights, analysis, and reporting to support strategic decision-making within the organisation. This role is responsible for the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and financial reports, month end processes and analysing variances through to offering recommendations to improve financial performance. The Management Accountant collaborates closely within the Cement business and across other business segments and functions as part of our Operating Model.

Your day will involve:

  • Business Partnering - stakeholder Management across the cement leadership team and business partnering with sales, logistics and site operations facilitating continuous improvement in the understanding and communication of results
  • Cost Accounting and Inventory Reporting
    • Monitor and Manage Cost Drivers through strong P&L management
    • Inventory Management and processes to ensure control of inventory and minimising days inventory on hand
  • Month end and associated reconciliation processes
    • Month end journals to support the month end close process working with site leads and Commercial Finance Managers
    • Variance analysis to support the Monthly Business Review process and effective cost management
    • Balance sheet reconciliations with a view of improving working capital through debtors management, creditor initiatives and inventory management
  • Financial reporting and Analysis
    • Dashboards and reporting supporting insights and performance improvement
    • Budgeting and forecasting
    • Sustainability reporting supporting the decarbonisation strategy of the business requiring collaboration with site operations and the sustainability department
    • Capital Management and associated reporting
  • Risk Management and Compliance
    • Year-end reporting
    • Addressing audit queries from internal and external audit teams
    • External Compliance activities including reporting of ABS data to the Government and Sustainability reporting to external authorities 

What are we looking for?

  • Commercially focused and experienced finance professional, ideally with prior exposure to partnering with operational stakeholders.
  • Bachelor degree (or higher) in Commerce, Business, Finance or Economics, with CA/CPA qualifications or working towards preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience in a financial accounting role, ideally in heavy industry.
