Internal Opportunity: Assistant Production Manager

We are inviting internal applications for the role of Assistant Production Manager. This is a key leadership position responsible for supporting operational performance, driving continuous improvement, and embedding a strong safety culture across the Business Unit.

About the Role

As an Assistant Production Manager, you will play a critical role in supporting production operations while ensuring safety, quality, customer service and efficiency targets are consistently achieved. You will work closely with regional leadership to drive performance, build capability within teams, and uphold Boral’s values in all activities.

Key Responsibilities

    • Act as a visible safety leader, role modelling behaviours, prioritising OH&S and actively monitoring, challenging and intervening to ensure safe work practices
    • Support delivery of production targets by driving operational efficiency, continuous improvement and strong team performance
    • Site SCROA implementation and management in conjunction with the Area Manager and Asset Management team
    • Ensure OHS compliance and integration into all decision-making, including hazard identification, risk management and injury prevention
    • Drive excellence in customer service and delivery of Boral’s Customer Promise
    • Build team capability and accountability, providing guidance, training and resources to enable safe and effective performance
    • Monitor, report and improve OHS performance, setting objectives, tracking KPIs and driving corrective actions where required
    • Foster a culture of trust, collaboration and open communication, engaging with employees, contractors and stakeholders on safety and operational matters

What We’re Looking For

  • Demonstrated experience in a production or operations environment, preferably as a BIC / BIC 1
  • Strong leadership capability with the ability to influence and engage teams
  • Sound understanding of OHS legislation and practices
  • Proven ability to drive performance and continuous improvement
  • Strong communication, collaboration and problem-solving skills
  • A proactive and disciplined approach to achieving outcomes
