Your next opportunity:
We're looking for an experienced Asset and Logistics Manager to join our Tasmanian team.
In this role you'll lead the management, reliability, safety, compliance and optimisation of our fixed and mobile asset portfolio across Tasmania, with support from our Tasmanian operational teams and the Victorian Assets team.
Reporting to the Regional Manager for our Tasmanian Concrete and Quarries business, you'll support operations spanning two quarries, three concrete plants and the associated logistics fleet, with accountability for sustainable operational and financial performance. You'll also lead a team of four tipper drivers and manage logistics activities across the state.
Your day will involve:
- Working closely with our operational teams to provide engineering, maintenance, procurement and technical support
- Driving asset improvements across our quarry and concrete sites
- Owning the P&L for the Tasmanian tippers, covering our tipper drivers, Boral owned fleet and contractors.
- Leading Saferty & Chain of Responsibility (CoR) compliance across the region.
- Keeping our fixed and mobile assets aligned with our SCROA strategy (Safe, Compliant, Reliable, Optimised Assets)Manage logistics operations including the scheduling of Quarry & Concrete product deliveries across TAS
- Managing logistics operations, including scheduling quarry and concrete product deliveries across Tasmania
- Negotiating and managing contracts with our subcontract fleet providers
- Supporting root cause analysis of major equipment downtime and developing corrective actions to prevent it recurring
- Driving continuous improvement in safety, EBIT, plant reliability and product quality
- Building strong relationships with our internal and external stakeholders
What are we looking for?
- Trade, engineering or technical qualification in a mechanical, maintenance or mining discipline, or equivalent hands-on experience
- Experience managing fixed and mobile plant in quarrying, concrete, construction materials, mining or heavy industry
- Solid background in asset management and maintenance planning, with a good understanding of reliability and asset lifecycle principles
- Experience managing a P&L, budgets & capex.
- Strong safety leadership and a working knowledge of the WHS, quarrying and environmental legislations
- Experience leading people
- Ability to travel regularly across Tasmania to service operational sites
- Industry Certification in asset management, maintenance or reliability is desirable but not compulsory
