Your next opportunity:
We're looking for a Driver to join our team at Garbutt. You'll drive our mini agitator to residential properties as well as other client sites and help our batchers when needed. You don't need concrete driving experience, as we'll provide all the training, just need to have previous driving experience and a current MR or HR licence.

We are a close team of a batcher and a mini driver at Garbutt, and a team based at our Stuart site as well. You'll be the face of Boral, so great customer service matters.

Early starts won't suit everyone, so flexibility is important. In return, you'll learn new skills, work with a supportive team and have a pathway to progress.

Your day will involve:

  • Safely operating an agitator truck and completing customer deliveries, around Townsville and regional area
  • Conducting daily vehicle pre-starts and maintaining safety standards
  • Learning and undertaking concrete batching activities to specified mix designs
  • Working closely with customers, drivers and plant staff to meet operational requirements
  • Delivering great customer service
  • Keeping your truck clean and well presented
  • Working Monday to Friday from approximately 5:00am to 2:00pm, plus Saturday mornings
  • Exact Hours are variable and reasonable overtime is expected based on Workload and Customer Bookings

What are we looking for?

  • Driving experience. Concrete industry experience would be advantageous but is not essential
  • HR licence is desirable. We'll also accept an MR licence, as you'll be driving a mini agitator
  • A strong commitment to safety, customer service, and teamwork
  • Great customer service skills
  • Good literacy, analytical and computer skills
  • Flexibility, including being comfortable with early starts
  • Mechanical aptitude is desirable
  • A loader ticket is a bonus, but we can train you
  • Interest in developing a long-term career in concrete operations
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and learn new systems

What’s on offer?

  • Permanent, full-time opportunity
  • Structured training and development in batching and plant operations
  • Career pathway for experienced drivers looking to expand their skills
  • Supportive team environment with a strong focus on safety
  • Genuine career growth opportunities within Boral
