For every child, vision

How can you make a difference?

The burden of malnutrition in all its forms remains a persistent global issue. UNICEF Nutrition, working with internal and external partners, focuses its efforts on five key areas to make a wholesome and significant impact on lowering the rates of under-nutrition and overweight and obesity, especially among adolescents and school-age children. The areas are as follows:

  1. Early childhood nutrition

  2. Nutrition for school-age children, adolescents and women

  3. Care for children with severe acute malnutrition

  4. Child and maternal nutrition in emergencies

  5. Knowledge, partnerships and governance for nutrition

To close the global nutrition financing gap and deliver results at scale, UNICEF is establishing the Child Nutrition Fund—a catalytic financing platform to mobilize, pool, and strategically allocate public and private resources toward high-impact nutrition programmes across stable, fragile, and emergency settings.

The Senior Advisor, Financing for Child Nutrition and Development (P-5), based in Brussels, will play a central leadership role in driving this global financing agenda. Brussels serves as a strategic location for UNICEF’s engagement with the European Commission, key EU institutions, and Europe-based bilateral donors, philanthropic organizations, and multilateral actors. The incumbent will lead the design and operationalization of the Child Nutrition Fund and steer UNICEF’s high-level financial partnerships, advocacy, and resource mobilization efforts for nutrition.

Join our team to lead UNICEF’s global efforts in transforming financing for child nutrition and development.

Under the guidance of the Global Director, Child Nutrition and Development, the Senior Advisor will drive UNICEF’s strategic vision to expand sustainable, equitable financing in both stable and crisis-affected contexts. You will oversee a portfolio of investment products, guiding UNICEF’s engagement with key financial stakeholders including donors, development banks, and private sector partners.

A key responsibility is to coordinate and operationalize the UNICEF-hosted Child Nutrition and Development Fund, enabling scalable and flexible financing solutions, in collaboration with internal teams and the CNF Steering Committee.

You’ll also champion UNICEF’s leadership in global nutrition financing dialogues—advocating for children, forging high-level partnerships, and influencing policy. Working across UNICEF divisions and with regional and country offices, you will help unlock innovative financing pathways and mobilize predictable, multi-year resources to achieve lasting impact for every child.
