The Administrative Coordinator will serve as the first point of contact for students, parents and prospective students seeking information about the Student Success Center (SSC). This position facilitates the ongoing, and day-to-day administrative activities within the Success Center, working closely with the Director and Assistant Director of Student Services. This position would specifically advance goals one and five of the University Strategic Plan: 1) Advance student learning and superior scholarship and 5) Develop resources that support the aspiration to be a premier, global Christian university. Additionally, this position contributes to the mission by recognizing the student as the center of the academic enterprise and a person of infinite dignity.

Duties

  • Serve as the first point of contact for students, parents and prospective students seeking information about the Success Center and assist with customer service functions including office reception and inventory. 
  • Coordinate with the director of the Student Success Center in supervising student workers and tutors carrying out daily clerical responsibilities and tutor scheduling in the Success Center. 
  • Event Planning: Organize events for the Student Success Center including: NSO, PSP, Summer Bridge to College Leadership program, First Wave Events, Monthly Learning Skills Workshops, etc.; set calendar, take RSVPs, coordinate catering, event logistics, invitations, etc.
  • Provide general office support for the Student Success Center; maintain appointment calendar and plan travel; reconcile departmental credit card statements and cash expenses.
  • Create and enact strategies to promote and publicize the Success Center to all student and faculty populations; work efficiently and compassionately with students and faculty of diverse populations to facilitate student success. Coordinate social media accounts, calendar, and print promotions.
  • Manage the Navigate check-in and scheduling process for tutors, tutees, and full-time staff. Train front desk student staff, Speech Lab tutors, and Writing Center tutors on Navigate processes.
  • Coordinate mass communication, manage send calendar, and design content for bi-weekly newsletters and announcements. 
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Skills and Qualifications

Required: Bachelor's degree required. Enthusiastic and positive demeanor; ability to establish work priorities; strong communication skills both verbal and written; and knowledge of office procedures. Experience working with diverse and non-traditional student populations. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others; ability to consistently be at work and on time, follow instructions (verbal and written), respond to management direction and solicit feedback to improve performance; ability to embrace and promote a diverse environment. Proficient with MS Office, especially Word and Excel. Proficient with PC, Mac, Phone, Printers, Copiers, and Media/Presentation Equipment.

Preferred: Office administration experience interacting with students, prospective students, faculty, and administrators; superior phone skills; ability to provide an excellent first impression to all callers; effective written communication skills.
Web Design and Social Media skills; Proficient with Adobe Creative Cloud, Illustrator, Canva, Microsoft and Google Suites, and EAB/Navigate. Experience with: 25Live, PeopleSoft, Nolji, and familiarity using an HTML editor.

This is a Regular, Nonexempt, 40 hour per week position.

Expected Pay Range: $23.30 - $25.89 per hour

The above pay range reflects what Pepperdine University reasonably expects to pay for this position at time of posting. Actual compensation may vary based on relevant factors such as work experience, market conditions, education/training, and skill level.
