The Seaver College Office of Admission's purpose is to facilitate the recruitment, selection, and enrollment of undergraduate students. As a member of the Admission Committee, an Admission Counselor is charged with recruiting and selecting high school and transfer college students who fit both the academic and Christian mission of the university while maintaining, if not improving, the overall gender, geographical and ethnic diversity of the campus.

Duties

  • Recruit high school and transfer college students to apply for undergraduate admission to Pepperdine University Seaver College.
  • Read and make admission decisions on undergraduate applications during the fall admission season.
  • Correspond with prospective applicants and their families concerning admission to Pepperdine, student life, spiritual life and academics.
  • Event planning, inter-departmental responsibilities, co-authoring marketing materials and presentations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Uphold University mission through work performed.

Skills and Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in any field of study.
  • Ability well in a team environment.
  • Presentation, writing, and critical reading/thinking skills.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office (particularly Word and Excel).
  • Organizational and time management skills; event planning; public speaking; attention to detail.
  • Willingness to learn Peoplesoft, NOLIJ, and our customer relationship management tool.
  • Ease with technology.
  • Ability to move (lift and/or cart) 25-50 pounds of boxed marketing materials/literature.
  • Ability to travel long and short distances.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and an insurable driving record.

Preferred:

  • One-year general office experience.
  • Knowledge of the Admission Office and Seaver College programs.

This is a Regular, Nonexempt, 40 hour per week position.

Expected Pay Range: $25.31 - $28.12 per hour 

The above pay range reflects what Pepperdine University reasonably expects to pay for this position at time of posting. Actual compensation may vary based on relevant factors such as work experience, market conditions, education/training, and skill level. In addition to base pay, Pepperdine offers a robust and highly competitive benefits package.
