The role

You’ll be responsible for conducting investigations, gathering and analysing evidence, and preparing clear, accurate reports that support decision-making.

What you will bring to the role

  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to assess complex information and draw sound conclusions.
  • Confidence in managing sensitive investigations while maintaining impartiality and professionalism.
  • Excellent communication skills to engage with stakeholders, conduct interviews, and prepare clear, concise reports.
  • Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities under pressure.
  • A collaborative mindset, contributing to team goals and supporting continuous improvement.
  • Sound understanding of relevant legislation, policies, and procedures, or a willingness to learn quickly.

 

Key skills and experience

  • Proven experience conducting investigations, including evidence gathering, analysis, and reporting.
  • Strong understanding of relevant legislation, regulatory frameworks, and public sector policies.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present findings clearly and professionally.
  • High level of discretion and integrity when handling sensitive or confidential matters.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to engage with stakeholders and manage challenging conversations.
  • Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in using case management systems and digital tools to support investigative processes.
  • Tertiary qualifications in law, criminal justice, public administration, or a related field.
  • Formal training in investigative techniques or regulatory compliance.
  • Experience working within a government or regulatory agency.
