  • Environment Officer Class 10 – salary ranges from $134,421 - $148,239 plus super

 

NABERS is a national program which provides sustainability ratings for the built environment. The program is mandated by the Commonwealth government for office buildings and provides voluntary ratings in a number of other sectors. To find out more visit https://www.nabers.gov.au/

Our Operations and Standards team is currently seeking to appoint a Products and Standards (P&S) Manager.

The P&S team ensures that the corresponding NABERS rules are established to facilitate smooth operations when new NABERS tools are released. It also looks after the review, maintenance and updates of existing rules and resources that achieve reliable ratings that everyone can trust – supporting a simple and easy rating process.

 

About The Role

  • Oversee the NABERS rules and standards to ensure the integrity and effectiveness of the NABERS rating tools
  • Work closely with subject matter experts across the branch to finalise rules for our new products as well as rules updates to existing rules
  • Manage feedback on our rules to identify and lead rules improvement projects that make our rules more streamlined for NABERS and our customers
  • Provide accurate technical or operational advice and support to stakeholders
  • Collaborate with consultants and stakeholders on technical resource development   
  • Carry out various administrative tasks, and respond to general enquiries  

 

About You

The Products and Standards manager plays a crucial role in ensuring the integrity and effectiveness of the NABERS rating tools by overseeing the NABERS rules and standards. NABERS currently has tools that covers more than 10 building sectors as well as Energy, Water, Indoor Environment, Waste and Carbon Neutral. This role works closely with subject matter experts across the branch to finalise rules for our new products as well as rules updates to existing rules.

The role also manages feedback on our rules to identify and leads rules improvement projects that make our rules more streamlined for NABERS and our customers. This role has one direct report. It would suit someone who is pragmatic, with an eye for detail and enjoys working with a variety of people across a broad range of topics.

 

Requirements - Skills / Experience: 

  • Excellent knowledge of technical issues related to sustainable practices in the built environment with demonstrated ability to critically review and advise on technical documentation 
  • At least 3 years of professional experience working in or with complex organizations such as government departments or large corporations 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication  
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship building skills  
  • Excellent project management capabilities with proven ability to prioritize competing demands 
  • Ability to work across standard IT platforms and applications 

Desirable Skills & Experience: 

  • Tertiary qualification in Engineering or similar technical discipline 
  • Experience of or familiarity with NABERS ratings 
  • Previous experience working on sustainability in the built environment  
  • Data analysis experience  
  • Experience of Salesforce CRM
