Duties & Responsibilities:

The focus of the Duty Engineer role is to ensure safety regulations and policies are adhered to, to ensure preventative maintenance is conducted on time to a high standard and to provide high levels of equipment availability through continuous improvement.

• Put health & safety best practices first in all work carried out.
• Carry out planned preventative maintenance on the full range of equipment within the site.
• React quickly to breakdowns, communicate clearly with affected parties and work efficiently to fix the issue.
• Support continuous improvement by learning from breakdowns and sending feedback and suggestions for improvements through the line manager.
• Provide high levels of equipment availability to our internal customers.
• Support and learn from Senior Maintenance Technicians.
• Ensure a proper and thorough handover of duties to the Duty Engineer on the next shift.
• Carry out daily inspections of plant rooms, boiler room, fire command center, generator room.
• During the night shift, he/she ensures that all public areas are checked/inspected for burnt-out light bulbs and instructs his/her immediate subordinates to replace such burnt-out light bulbs.
• During the night shift, he/she has to ensure that the correct engineering stock is maintained in the cabinet so allocated and completes such requisition form when stocks are drawn.
• Any other duties which may be assigned from time to time.
