JOB SUMMARY:

Provides strategic direction in the finance function at Universal, specifically ensuring accuracy of financial results (accounting function) and financial reporting submissions (reporting function). This job involves leading a team of staff accountants and/or analysts. An additional aspect of the job includes managing the external audit process. The Senior Manager must participate in financial reviews with executive leadership.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage finance staff by providing leadership, coaching, mentoring, career development, and performance management.
  • Direct and supervises the overall financial reporting function.
  • Oversee month-end financial close process.
  • Develop short- and long-term financial cash flow plans including forecasts, budgets, and five-year plans.
  • Assist Finance Leadership with ad-hoc projects. Tasks include research of highly complex accounting issues, lease analysis, and finance support for digital projects.
  • Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting of business results with variance commentary.
  • Perform in-depth analysis on actual financial performance extending findings to provide meaningful recommendations.
  • Understand and actively participate in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training, and team member involvement activities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor’s degree is required. Master’s degree is preferred

EXPERIENCE:

  • 7+ years’ Finance experience, including 5+ years Supervisory preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

  • CPA preferred.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

Infrequent local travel. Long distance travel not required.
